Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– In the not-really-a-surprise department, NBC has cancelled Constantine.  While the show bore little resemblance to the John Constantine of “Hellblazer”, it was a surprisingly fun and crazy show. Warner Bros. knows this, too, and are shopping it around for other networks to pick up.

– Meanwhile, FOX has greenlit a Lucifer series focusing on the eponymous character leaving Hell for Los Angeles – though I’m not sure there’s much a difference. (Expect plenty of jokes like that in the series, because FOX.) The whole thing sounds like it’s a Lorne from Angel spin-off, and, hey, that might be okay.

– In other TV news, Marvel announced that Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are getting new seasons. What isn’t happening, however, is the Bobbi Morse-led spinoff that had been rumored for a few weeks.

– The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is probably one of the best entities in comicdom. Recently, they launched this new tool called The Comics Connector. Basically, it’s a networking device so librarians or educators can connect with creators in their areas for lectures or presentations.

– Over at The Verge, a new video series explores the impact and influence of digital technologies and print responses. It’s the first part of a four-part series and raises some interesting points about the limitations and benefits of the print and digital mediums.

– I admit, I gotta a pretty big kick out of this: Paste Magazine contributors had their mothers review some select comics for Mother’s Day. The general consensus seemed to be favorable, though I don’t know what grudge one writer holds against his mother: he makes her read “The Dark Knight Strikes Again.”

– Daniel Clowes’s “Eightball” is getting a new, massive, two volume edition from Fantagraphics later this Spring. Over at The Millions, he talks about his career, where he sees himself in the world of comics, and just general Daniel Clowes stuff.

– The Avengers: Age of Ultron made another $77.2 million at the box office this week. Once again, though, it falls second only to the first Avengers movie. Maybe it doesn’t help that it’s not as good a movie, and deeply problematic, as so many people are willing to point out. Marvel Studios don’t care, though, since they’re just cleaning up.

– In fact, Marvel is already preparing for their next movie, with Ant-Man inspired variants for June.

– Finally, in Webcomics Worth Clicking: Annie Szabla’s “Bird-Boy” is definitely 100% a stunner. Get sucked in by the story, but stick around for the fantastic designs. If you know of any webcomics that are super awesome and worth clicking, please let us know!
