Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– The 2015 Ignatz Awards were given out on Saturday, September 19th at the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland. As always, there was a wide breadth of talent who had been nominated, all of whom’re super dope. However the winners themselves created some really cool things. Among them: Emily Carroll for Outstanding Artist on “Through the Woods”; “The Oven” by Sophie Goldstein as Outstanding Graphic Novel and Outstanding Comic; Lilli Carre’s “The Bloody Footprint” as Outstanding Online Comics; and Sophie Foster-Dimino for Outstanding Series, Outstanding Minicomic, and Promising New Talent for her work on “Sex Fantasy.”

– After years and years of being relegated to obscurity, a movement to make sure Bill Finger — the dude who actually created Batman — receives credit for creating the Dark Knight has finally reached its end goal. Starting this next season with Gotham and next summer with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Bill Finger will receive a co-creator credit card for the character. Hopefully it won’t be too long before DC follows suit and puts his name in all the comics.

– On Friday for our Weekly Reader’s Poll, we asked, Which of DC’s Cancelled Titles Will You Miss the Most? 44% of you said “The Omega Men.” Well, good news! The fan-favorite series by Tom King and illustrated by Barnaby Bagenda has been un-cancelled. On Twitter, Jim Lee said that they had promised 12 issues, so by golly, they were going to give you those 12 issues.

Going back to our poll, 19% of voters were disappointed about the ending of “Sensation Comics,” especially since it was pretty much the only place to currently find a Wonder Woman story that celebrated her, unlike the work Meredith and David Finch are doing in the main title. (Which is literally one of the worst things DC has ever released.) 16% of you were bummed about “Gotham by Midnight” ending (though I was honestly surprised it was continuing after Ben Templesmith left) and 11% of readers were sad to see “Justice League Canada United” go. Interestingly, only one other person came out in support of “Doomed,” the other DC You title that was sent out to pasture. Anyway, be sure to check with us this Friday for our next Readers’ Poll!

– Right before SPX, ComiXology announced they were adding a catalogue of material from premier comics publisher Drawn & Quarterly. This has been part of their initiative to diversify and broaden their range of titles beyond the sort of “direct market” (e.g. Marvel and DC) set of comics and showcase the wide range of material the medium is capable of producing. And they’re apparently reaching a great amount of people. Digital comics are the preferred or sometimes the only convenient or affordable option for many readers, and I think to have more offered — even through a site owned by Amazon — helps diversify reading habits.

– 2016 sees the next American election! Paste Magazine assembled this handy collection of politicians in comics, saying I guess it could be better or it might also be a lot worse.

– Because he’s not stretched thin enough, Dustin Nguyen will join longtime collaborator Derek Friedolfs in creating a Young Justice League book for Scholastic called, “DC Comics: Secret Hero Society – The Study Hall of Justice.” Nguyen and Friedolfs made probably DC’s best book last year, “Batman: Li’l Gotham” together, so this will probably be a very enjoyable story!

– On Friday, “Fables” writer Bill Willingham accused writer/editor and former personal assistant Stephanie Cooke of embezzling money and outright stealing from him. Cooke denies everything and says she’s seeking legal representation. In his press release, Willingham also conducted a self-interview and a Q&A, which definitely seems to lead these accusations in his favor.

– Finally, in Webcomics Worth Clicking: What better time than now to celebrate Lilli Carre’s Ignatz win than by reading the comic that took home the award? Here’s “The Bloody Footprint.”
