Yesterday, I think we figured out that the art on this super secret Image Project was being handled by Greek artist Ilias Kyriazis, and it’s definitely the thing I’ve been digging most from all these teases. And now, a couple readers have pointed out that Jay Faerber has also been dropping hints over on his Twitter feed about his involvement. When I say hints, I mean it’s the super non-subtle, elbow nudging, wink-wink sort of crypticness to lead us to guess he’s probably writing this thing.
Faerber is currently handling “Copperhead” with Scott Godlewski and colorist Ron Riley at Image, which kind of reminds me of Greg Rucka’s “Whiteout,” except on Tatooine.
The latest addition to this teaser team is Gaijin, apparently raised by mobsters. I don’t know how well this goes to explaining her acrobatic skills, but she looks like she could be one of the most fun characters.
What I am appreciating most from all these teases is the diversity from this group. There’s a variety of people of varying looks and backgrounds, and it doesn’t feel like the tokenism I often get from many of the major superhero teams. I hope Faerber and Kyriazis maintain this when they give some actual characterization to these people.
As always, please let us know what you think in the comments section and we will let you know any more information when we learn it, as well.
