Out of the ashes, Jean Grey is rising into an all-new team book that Marvel has announced to be written by Tom Taylor (“All-New Wolverine,” “Injustice 2”) and artist Mahmud Asrar (“Generations: The Thunder” #1, “Totally Awesome Hulk”) with covers by Travis Charest. The book will spin out of the weekly “Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey” to be penned by Matthew Rosenberg with a slew of artists that will run from December to the end of January and will see the return of the adult Jean Grey who has been dead since 2003. The announcement was made by Marvel via the video announcement below:

“X-Men: Red” will be Marvel’s fourth X-Men team book in Legacy with “X-Men: Gold” following a more traditional X-Men line-up, “X-Men: Blue” following the time-displaced original X-Men that were brought into the main Marvel Universe in 2012, and “Astonishing X-Men” portraying a select team and has seen Charles Xavier appear recently. There are no details yet about how the arrival of the adult Jean Grey will affect the dynamic of these teams, especially “X-Men: Blue” which sees her younger counterpart leading the team.

Marvel has also not revealed the line-up of Jean Grey’s new team of X-Men, but leads us with many questions such as, will this be a traditional/original X-Men line-up? Will Logan, who was brought back from the dead in “Marvel Legacy” #1 come back in the fold in this book? How will the young Jean Grey feel about a rival mutant team?

All these questions, and more, will be answered starting December 27 with the publication of “Phoenix Resurrection” #1 and in February when “X-Men: Red” #1 makes its debut. We’ll have more details as they come, but sound off in the comments who you think Jean Grey will gather with her!
