On Earth’s Mightiest Show, Marvel have announced that “Daredevil” is returning next year with a new creative team in the shape of writer Chip Zdarsky (“Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man”) and artist Marco Checchetto (“Old Man Hawkeye”).

The current “Daredevil” creative team of writer Charles Soule and artist Phil Noto are wrapping up their run with the ominously named ‘The Death of Daredevil‘ storyline, which concludes in “Daredevil” issue #612 on November 28. The title will then go on hiatus until the relaunch, although in January there will a weekly five-issue miniseries, “Man Without Fear,” written by Jed MacKay with art by Danilo Beyruth, which will explore the fallout from Matt Murdock’s apparent demise. The solicitations for that series hinted at the coming of a new Daredevil, asking “without a Daredevil to protect it, has hell come for his city? Who is The Man Without Fear?!”

Checchetto is no stranger to “Daredevil,” having illustrated part of Andy Diggle’s 2009 – 2011 run, as well as Mark Waid and Greg Rucka’s 2012 “Daredevil”/”Punisher” crossover ‘The Omega Effect.’ This is the latest series written by Zdarsky for Marvel under his exclusive contract. He recently wrapped up his “Spectacular Spider-Man” run with September’s issue #310, and his current ongoing, “Marvel Two-In-One,” will end with issue #12 on November 28.

The new “Daredevil” series will begin this February, roughly fifty-five years after Stan Lee and Bill Everett’s character first debuted in “Daredevil” #1 (cover date April 1964).
