Welcome back to Make Mine Multiversity: A Marvel Podcast! Each episode we’ll be looking at Marvel books, old and new, discussing those books, and also talking Marvel news, Marvel history and this time, a singular Marvel creator.

Make Mine Multiversity is a twice-monthly podcast that premieres on the first and third Friday of every month! It’s like a “Fantastic Four” ongoing, but with more consistent numbering. No mid-run reboots here!

This month, we decided to stop beating around the bush. We’re talking all Jonathan Hickman all the time. First half of the episode! It’s all about “X-Men” stuff, and Hickman is the so-called Head of X! Second half of the episode! We’re really getting into Hickman’s Marvel career, starting with his humble beginnings and working through his biggest ongoings. You want to hear about his Marvel deep cuts? We got that covered too. Will we ever talk about Hickman’s work again after this episode? Uh… yeah. All the time. We still love “X-Men.”

Next month’s book club: Face front, because we’re reading “Amazing Spider-Man:” The Early issues by Stan Lee & Steve Ditko. We’re reading the first fourteen issues- that starts with Spidey’s debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 and continuing on with “Amazing Spider-Man” #1-12 and finishes in “Amazing Spider-Man” Annual #1.

A Special NoteDue to some misadventures in scheduling, we are giving you a special preview of an upcoming book club comic… one by Jonathan Hickman. Despite what we say at the end of the episode, the next book club episode will assuredly be about “Amazing Spider-Man.” We will also remind you at the top of the ep! Sorry for any confusion. Enjoy the good reads!

Make Mine Multiversity Episode 134: Castaway in Dimension JRJR

    By and | Mar 1, 2024 | Podcasts

We're doing it folks. We've finally read one of the bugbears in the MMM canon: 'Castaway in Dimension Z' aka the first ten issues of Rick Remender's 2012 "Captain America" run. We do a recap on all things Remender, JRJR, and Cap once more before talking about this very divisive arc. Will Elias admit it's not as good as he thought it was? Will Jaina find more worth in it (and in the art?) Listen on, true believers!
