There are two things I love to see pop up in my Dredd comics: Psi-Judge Cassandra Anderson and Judges from other Mega-Cities. The first issue of Judge Dredd: Anderson, Psi-Division had both of these things, so we’re off to a fantastic start!
The hunt for stolen relics has taken Judge Anderson from Mega-City One, down to Texas City, across the giant lake where Louisiana used to be, and into what is referred to as The Alabama Morass. She’s teamed up with Texas City Judge Degroot, who’s specialty is psychogeography. So basically the environment communicates with her.
This series has so much going for it: Judges in cowboy hats, inventive psychic abilities, awesomely designed hover-bikes, and a hell of a cliffhanger at the end if issue one. Between Smith’s characterization and Critchlow’s art, this is a series Dredd fans old and new do not want to miss!
Courtesy of the fine folks over at IDW, have a gander at this exclusive preview of issue 2.
