When listing the greatest “Thor” runs of all time, one name consistently comes up: Walter Simonson. His take on the God of Thunder is one of the most beloved and respected of all time. Luckily, since Thor is a public domain creation, just because he’s not working for Marvel at the moment, doesn’t mean he can’t tell Thor stories. Sure, they may not be an exact continuation of his Marvel work, but Simonson is doing some of his best Thor-ytelling (see what I did there?) over at IDW, in a title called “Ragnarok.” No, it isn’t an adaptation of the film for which we saw the first trailer today, but rather a look at the mythical God of Thunder in a comic that will satisfying any longtime Thor fan. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the twelfth issue, which drops on the 12th of April.
