On Friday, we asked our readers what their favorite Alien crossover comic is. While there were quite a few options, one of the books is so iconic that it spawned a series of films. It seemed like a foregone conclusion, and it was: “Alien vs Predator” was our readers’ choice, with 35.3% of the vote.
The second place vote is, perhaps, the most critically acclaimed of the crossovers, and that is “WildC.A.T.S./Aliens” by Warren Ellis and Chris Sprouse. Ellis’s well documented accusations of sexual coercion has obviously changed how folks talk about his work, but the quality of “WildC.A.T.S./Aliens” has never really been replicated on other Alien crossovers. 29.4% of our readers voted for “WildC.A.T.S./Aliens.”
Rounding out the top three with 17.6% was “Judge Dredd Versus Aliens: Incubus.” Dredd is such a rigid character that you wouldn’t think he’d play well with others, but it is because of that rigidity that the character is such an easy and fun character to put into other stories.
