There aren’t many artists I would say this about, but some, when you see there work, looks way better uncolored. That’s not to say that the colorists they work with aren’t good – the industry has an abundance of incredibly gifted colorists, especially today – but some artists have so much mood and atmosphere to their work that seeing their work penciled and inked just feels like the best way to see it.
Michael Lark is one of those artists, as his work soars when you see his work before colors are added. There’s a true power there, and for that reason, for his art feature this Artist August all of the pieces I selected were black and white. Enjoy!
