Dark Horse Comics will be launching the latest installment in their long line of Aliens titles with September’s “Aliens: Life and Death.” Written by Dan Abnett with art by Moritat, the series looks to be quite interesting. Abnett’s a no-brainer, the guy writes deep-space sci-fi like nobody’s business. Look no further than any of his contributions to the “Warhammer 40k” universe or his like-minded “Insurrection” stories for the folks at 2000 AD to support my statement. Moritat, on the other hand, is a little bit more surprising of a choice. I’m sure lots of readers will closely associate him with his DC output, but keep in mind his healthy run on the futurist-adventure series “Elephantmen.” While the bulk of his recent work has been on superheroes, Moritat’s shown that his European-inspired art is as perfectly suited for science fiction as anything else. Seeing these two on this title has piqued my curiosity for sure. Plus, there’s a Sachin Teng variant cover to sweeten the pot!

Instead, she moonlights as a private detective dealing in supernatural circumstances and monster hunting. Obviously, this really eats into her lecture time. “Semiautomagic” collects the first two stories of the weird investigative serial from Alex De […]
