Skybound Entertainment chairman and comic book writer Robert Kirkman took the stage at NYCC to announce the final arc of his and Paul Azaceta’s critically acclaimed series “Outcast.” Kirkman said the final arc of the book will begin with December’s “Outcast” #37 and take place over the course of twelve issues – ending on issue #48.

Speaking about the book, Kirkman said, “It’s been a long road getting here – but I’ve said since the beginning ‘Outcast’ was the first series I started where I had the ending planned before we began. We’ve been building to what’s coming since the very first issue and it’s great to finally be at the point where we can tell this final epic storyline! Working with Paul has been an absolute thrill and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done together over what will be a five year journey.”

“Outcast” launched in 2014, and follows Kyle Barnes as he searches for answers regarding his lifelong struggle with demonic possession. The comic spawned a TV adaptation that ran for two seasons on Cinemax before getting cancelled just earlier this week.

Kirkman is most well known for being the writer/co-creator of “The Walking Dead,” one of the most successful independent comic series ever, and as the co-creator and writer of “Invincible.”

“Outcast” #37 will be available for purchase December 19th, 2018.
