Geoff Johns is a busy man lately, as DC have revealed a number of projects from the writer during his Spotlight Panel at San Diego Comic Con.

Johns will launch a new “Shazam!” series with former “JSA” collaborator, Dale Eaglesham, due out November 21, 2018. The series will see Johns return “Shazam!” to the post-“Rebirth” DC universe since his “Justice League” back up stories which he worked on with his “Doomsday Clock” collaborator Gary Frank. “Doomsday Clock” #6 will be released July 25.

Johns also confirmed that “Three Jokers” with art by Jason Fabok, is slated to be released this winter, under DC’s ‘Black Label’ imprint. It will, however, be in DC’s main continuity. Johns said “This will explore a new facet of who Bruce Wayne is that’s never been seen in comics. It connects him to the Joker in a way that will change their relationship forever.”

Johns also elaborated on his new banner ‘The Killing Zone’ He told the audience the line would “consist of multiple books that tell a story spanning 1940-2040. The titles will include some new characters and some recognizable but lesser seen ones.” Fans can expect titles to be released in mid-2019.

Finally, Johns announced that he will write and showrun a Stargirl TV series for DC Universe. Johns holds a special place in his heart for this character, as she was the first character Johns co-created (with artist Lee Moder) and wrote for DC. The character is based off his late sister, Courtney Johns. “Stargirl is the doorway into a team that’s very close to my heart, the JSA,” Johns said. He added that show is “all about her bringing back the legacy of the Justice Society.”

DC has released a press release along with some cover art, which you can read below and sheds further light on his announcements:

REVEALS UPCOMING ‘SHAZAM!’ COMIC BOOK SERIES AND SHARES NEW DETAILS ON ‘DOOMSDAY CLOCK’ AND MORE AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2018

Geoff Johns delighted fans at his Spotlight panel Thursday at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2018 with the news that he is writing and executive producing STARGIRL for the DC Universe digital subscription service. Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will also executive produce. The original series is the sixth for the brand new service and focuses on the character that started Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

STARGIRL follows High School sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.

The STARGIRL announcement was just one of a series of reveals from Johns during his lively panel, during which Johns also shared the newly released TITANS trailer and the panel room roared as Robin takes center stage for the new series.

Before the crowd could settle down, Johns revealed he will return to SHAZAM! with an ongoing comic book series, reuniting with artist Dale Eaglesham. SHAZAM #1 will debut on November 21, the same Wednesday before Thanksgiving that Johns debuted DOOMSDAY CLOCK #1 in 2017.

Speaking of DOOMSDAY CLOCK, Johns revealed new art by Gary Frank from issue #6, out July 25. Johns shared that the new issue will provide fans with Mime and Marionette’s origin stories.

Finally, Johns revealed a first look at BATMAN: THREE JOKERS by artist Jason Fabok and announced that the series will be published under the DC Black Label imprint, which promises the provocative and daring storytelling fans have grown to expect from the DOOMSDAY CLOCK writer.
