– Per The Beat, BOOM! Studios imprint Archaia will release a third volume of award-winning Israeli cartoonist Asaf Hanuka’s autobiographical comics, “The Realist: Last Day on Earth,” in June. Translated by Yardenne Greenspan, and lettered by AndWorld Design, “Last Day on Earth” will see Hanuka explore “the joys (and pitfalls) of parenting in a politically divisive world, and the ongoing struggle to manifest art even as real life humor and pathos keeps getting in the way.” The 128-page hardcover book will be released in bookstores on Tuesday, June 21, as well as comic shops the following day, and you can read a preview here.

– Rebellion, Chinbeard Books and Spiteful Puppet will publish “Robin Of Sherwood:
The Complete Look-in Comics,” a collection of Look-In magazine’s comics based on the 1984-86 TV series Robin of Sherwood. The book, which reprints the work of writer Angus Allan and artists Mike Noble, Arthur Ranson, and Phil Gascoine, will receive a limited print run, available only through Spiteful Puppet’s online store on May 31. Additionally, Rebellion announced a full color omnibus of Alan Moore and Ian Gibson’s feminist sci-fi classic “The Ballad of Halo Jones,” restored and colored by Barbara Nosenzo, will be released next year.

– French manga adaptation The Summit of the Gods won Best Animated Feature at the Cesar Awards on Friday. Director Patrick Imbert received the award at the Paris ceremony, where the late Moon Knight cast member Gaspard Ulliel was also honored. Summit of the Gods, an adaptation of the comic by Jiro Taniguchi, which was in turn based on the novel by Baku Yumemakura, was snubbed by the Oscars last month. The film is available to watch globally on Netflix.

– Deadline reports Netflix will release an eight-part series based on the 2014 Vertigo comic “Bodies.” The book, which was written by the late Si Spencer with art by Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, Phil Winslade, and Dean Ormston, chronicled four different detectives’ investigation of the same body appearing in London in the 1890s, the 1940s, the 2010s, and 2050. No Offence and Torchwood writer Paul Tomalin is developing the project at Moonage Pictures.

– In an interview with Empire, Neil Gaiman confirmed actor Ferdinand Kingsley (Victoria, Mank) will play the immortal Hob Gadling on Netflix’s The Sandman series. Gadling, a veteran of the Hundred Years’ War who proclaims he has no interest in dying, and promptly doesn’t for the next six centuries, first appeared in “The Sandman” #13, drawn by Michael Zulli. Kingsley will appear in the show’s sixth episode, due out later this year. You can check out more from Gaiman about the series, and the first photo of Vivienne Acheampong as librarian Lucienne, here.

Disney and Sony have pulled their upcoming movie releases from Russia, while Warner Bros. have put the release of The Batman in the country on hold for the foreseeable future. The move by the studios is one of many sanctions against Russia in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine last week. Disney added, “In the meantime, given the scale of the emerging refugee crisis, we are working with our NGO partners to provide urgent aid and other humanitarian assistance to refugees.”

– The wait for British fans of Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash will be over soon: Vodzilla shares seasons 7 and 8 of the respective shows will both premiere on Sky Max on Tuesday, March 22. Legends‘ “The Bullet Blondes” will air at 7pm, and The Flash‘s “Armageddon, Part 1” will follow immediately afterwards. The delayed arrival will follow the end of Legends‘ seventh season in the U.S., and The Flash‘s lengthy break after the five-part “Armageddon.”

– Furthermore, Vault Comics have added Lunar Distribution to their number of distribution partners; Marvel unveiled a plaque honoring the late Stan Lee at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park; and badges are now on sale for WonderCon 2022. WonderCon 2022, which is set to be the first edition of San Diego Comic-Con’s sister convention since 2019, will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center on the weekend of April 1-3.

– Finally, The Washington Post states Peanuts Worldwide — the owner of Charlie Brown and friends — have launched the Armstrong Project, which will provide $200,000 in endowments to two HBCUs (historically Black colleges and universities): Howard University in Washington, D.C., and Hampton University in Virginia. The project will also offer a scholarship to a student at each school who is studying the arts, animation, entertainment or communication, and mentorships and internships. The project is named for Franklin Armstrong, the first Black character created for Charles M. Schulz’s comic, as well as cartoonist Robb Armstrong, a member of the Board of Directors of the Charles M. Schulz Museum, whom Schulz derived Franklin’s surname from.
