– The family of Rocket-Raccoon co-creator, Bill Mantlo, have launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for medical bills. Mantlo was injured in a hit-and-run collision in 1992 and has needed round-the-clock for the last 27 years. Mantlo’s brother, Michael, launched the campaign to help him pay for the nearly $100,000 in debt he has accrued while taking care of his brother. You can donate to the fund here.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-writer Phil Lord will be writing a portion of the upcoming “Spider-Man Annual” #1. Details regarding whether Lord will be listed as a co-writer with the originally solicited Jason Latour or if he will be writing an entirely different section have not been specified.

Paste Magazine has an exclusive first look at “Angel” #1 from BOOM! Studios. The series was announced as a surprise to readers and retailers just eight days before the series’s issue #0 hit shelves. The series is written by Bryan Edward Hill (“Killmonger”) and drawn by Gleb Melnikov (“Go Go Power Rangers”). “Angel” #1 will be released May 29.

– The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) has announced a new field guide for comic book retailers. The CBLDF Presents Selling Comics: The Guide to Retailing and Best Practices in the Greatest Modern Artform book will be a 144-page paperback that will include key tips, “best practices” guidelines, and essay from industry experts on how to run a successful, modern comic shop. It will be published by Dark Horse on September 24.

– A release date for “Samurai 8,” the new series from “Naruto” creator Masashi Kishimoto, seems to have surfaced online thanks to a promotional image from Weekly Shonen Jump. According to some translators, the image says to expect the new series May 13 of this year, but as of now, nothing has been officially announced.

– DC Collectibles has cancelled all comic retailer orders for the upcoming DC Lucha Explosiva! action figure line. No reason was given for the cancellation, but DC Collectibles did say that “These items will not be resolicited.”

– Characters from cartoonist Carl Giles will spring to life for the first time on stage in the upcoming musical, Grandma Saves the Day! A Musical About the Giles Family. The show will focus on the fictional Giles family and their neighbors, the Sinkletons. Giles’s strips ran for almost 50 years in the Daily and Sunday Express.

– A new trailer has been released for season 2 of Krypton, and with it, a premiere date: June 12. The trailer also featured the first look at Emmett Scanlan’s Lobo in action. You can see the trailer here.

– Finally, the television adaptation of Charles Forsman’s graphic novel, “The End of the F***ing World,” was announced as a winner at the 78th Peabody Awards.
