In case you missed it, Marvel announced Saladin Ahmed and Javier Garron on December’s “Miles Morales: Spider-Man,” an an “X-Force” relaunch, and the cancellation of the new “Vision” series. DC announced a “Martian Manhunter” maxiseries by Steve Orlando and Riley Rossmo, a new “Freedom Fighters” book, and gave us an exclusive look at next week’s “Harley Quinn” #50. Albatross Funnybooks also announced “MegaGhost.”

Syfy.com have exclusively reported Jeff Lemire will be adding to his “Black Hammer” universe with “Black Hammer: Cthu-Louise.” The one-shot will be written by Jeff Lemire and drawn by Emi Lenox (“Plutona”). The one-short will focus on Cthu-Louise, who is the daughter of “Black Hammer” villain Cthu-Lou, who was first seen in 2017’s “Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil” #2. “As modern-day high school can be a living hell for almost anyone, it’s especially tough for teenage girls spawned by the emissary of an ancient Cthulhu god,” reads the synopsis. “Black Hammer: Cthu-Louise” will be colored by Dave Stewart (“Hellboy”), lettered by Todd Klein (“The Sandman”), and will hit stores December 12.

– Warner Bros CEO and chairman, Kevin Tsujihara, announced that Pam Lifford has been promoted to President of the newly formed Warner Bros. Global Brands and Experiences, which includes DC Entertainment. Lifford will be charged with “developing all-new fan-engagement business opportunities,” states the press release. The ongoing day-to-day operations at DC will continue to be run by Publisher and Chief Creative Officer, Jim Lee, and Publisher, Dan DiDio. They will however now report to Lifford. Pam Lifford has had more than 25 years of experience, including 12 years at Disney.

– Sony’s Venom will be soon upon us, and IGN have exclusively announced a “Venom” comic book which will tie into the upcoming movie. The digitally released comic will be written by Sean Ryan and drawn by Szymon Kudranski, and will serve as an official prequel teaser to the movie. The comic will go live at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT on Marvel.com.

According to Deadline.com, Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment has teamed with the United Kingdom’s Sky Corporation to bring “comic books for the iPhone generation.” The two companies are launching ‘Skybound Stories,’ which will feature new and existing IP. ‘Skybound Stories’ will use episodic and character driven narratives, where the player becomes the protagonist, and their actions affect the storyline. Dan Murray, President of Skybound Interactive stated, “A constant goal at Skybound is to deliver new and existing fans with the best content possible. Our deal with Sky allows to dive deeper into already cherished worlds in a creative way, inviting players to become a part of the story.”

Check out the spooky new trailer for Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, based off the Archie comic book of the same name. This new series stars Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) as Sabrina Spellman. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina debuts its first 10-episode season on Netflix, October 26.

– Image Comics, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and the Graphic Novel and Comics Round Table of the American Library Association have joined to celebrate Banned Books Week (September 23rd-29th). They will be producing a week of Library Livestreams featuring creators Nick Dragotta (“East of West”), Grace Ellis (“Moonstruck”), Pornsak Pichetshote (“Infidel”), Charles Soule (“Curse Words”), and Skottie Young (“Deadpool”). During that week, libraries are invited to welcome their patrons to participate on these conversations on Twitch. Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson stated “Banned Books Week is an important opportunity to reflect on why free speech matters, and why this year’s Banned Books Week theme, ‘Banning Books Silences Stories’ is such a resonate one.”

– Speaking of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, under their supervision, the Small Press Expo has opened a fundraiser for the 11 creators who have received a defamation lawsuit from indie publisher Cody Pickrodt. You can donate here.

Oni Press have launched a new way of promoting voting in the upcoming midterm elections and beyond with a website that offers a state-by-state guide on how to vote from a variety of cartoonists. “Draw Out the Vote,” has been put together by Oni senior editor Robin Herrera with support by publisher James Lucas and CFO Joe Nozemack. The project see more than 50 creators, one from each state, as well as Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia offering short stories about the importance of voting, being accompanied by information about registering to vote and how to vote in each state. TNT’s Snowpiecer has gained another recurring star in Homeland‘s Shaun Toub. He will be joining Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs in the futuristic thriller based on the movie (and French comic) of the same name.

IGN has a first look at the live-action Jason Todd (Curran Walters) meeting the original Robin, Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) in Titans. This will be the first live action depiction of DC’s Jason Todd character. The show begins on DC Universe on October 12th.
