In case you missed it, writer Max Bemis is taking a break from Marvel after finishing his “Moon Knight” run, and Archaia is set to explore the “New World” in a graphic novel from cartoonist David Jesus Vignolli. Our 2018 New York Comic Con coverage continued with interviews with Wes Craig and Daniel Semanas – we also talked to webcomic creator Danielle Corsetto.

– Fantagraphics announced their first 2019 releases, including an original graphic novel from alternative comics creator Mary Fleener, new “Love and Rockets”-related work from Jaime Hernandez, and a collection of Wally Wood’s erotic art. You can see the full list of releases at ICv2.
– Vault Comics is launching a new middle grade and young adult graphic novel imprint called Myriad, according to Publishers Weekly. “Myriad is a place for emerging and established creators alike to reach the broadest possible audience,” said Vault co-founder Adrian Wassel, in the PW announcement. “The idea is simple: Tell stories just as daring, just as beloved, and just as relevant as those coming out of Vault, but for an even wider audience.”
– Black Panther costume designer Ruth E. Carter is set to receive the Costume Designers Guild’s Career Achievement Award, reports Deadline. The awards ceremony will take place on February 19.
– In DC TV news, Arrow‘s Stephen Amell posted several pictures of his time working with the ’90s Flash, John Wesley Shipp, as part of the Arrowverse’s upcoming crossover “Elseworlds,” and Gotham revealed the first look at Bane (Shane West) in the show’s fifth season.
– In DC movie news, Joker found both its Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce Wayne, according to ComicBook.com. Dante Pereira-Olson (Happy!) will play young Bruce, while Douglas Hodge (Red Sparrow) will play Alfred.
– And finally, legendary filmmaker and sometimes mangaka Hayao Miyazaki will also be receiving a Career Achievement Award, this one from The Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The awards ceremony will take place January 12, says The Hollywood Reporter.
