In case you missed it, we spoke with writer Chris Roberson about “Witchfinder: The Reign of Darkness” #1; “Strangelands” co-writer Darcy Little Badger put together a Spotify playlist to accompany the newly released collected edition; and artist Jay Fosgitt discussed the role that nostalgia plays in his work.

– Kayla Miller’s “Click” graphic novel series from HMH Books will continue with a third installment, expected in May 2020. The third book of the series, titled, “Act,” is aimed towards readers aged 10-12 and continues to follow Olive, now in sixth grade, as she runs against her friends for student council.
– Marvel Entertainment sent out a mysterious tweet that teases a new comics event or series coming in March 2020. The tweet reads “Applications Due: March 2020 #MarvelComics” and accompanies an image of a Doctor Strange crest.
– Marvel also announced an upcoming TV special that celebrates the life and work of Stan Lee. Comics creators and stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe alike will share their memories of Lee, and celebrate the legacy that he left behind. The special will also feature never-before-seen interviews and footage with Lee from the Marvel archives. Celebrating Marvel’s Stan Lee is hosted by Clark Gregg (Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and will air Friday, December 20th, 8-9 p.m. EST on ABC.
– Netflix have announced the new series Locke & Key will launch on February 7th, 2020. Based on the bestselling IDW graphic novels by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, the 10-part series follows the Locke siblings as they move into a mysterious new house after their father’s death. The series stars Jackson Robert Scott, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Darby Stanchfield, amongst others.
– A massive “Attack on Titan” mural has been painted in New York City to celebrate its 10 year anniversary, courtesy of Colossal Media. The mural is located near Madison Square Garden on 31st Street between 7th and 8th Avenues and will only be up until December 12th.
– The AFI Award winners have been announced and it seems it has been an impressive year for comic-to-screen adaptations: Joker made the top ten motion pictures list along with The Irishman, Knives Out, and 1917, to name a few. Watchmen accompanies Chernobyl, When They See Us, and Game of Thrones on the top ten TV programs list.
– Hulu’s adult-themed, animated Marvel comedy Tigra & Dazzler has been put on hold due to creative differences. Showrunner Erica Rivinoja (Girls Trip, The Addams Family) and the rest of the writing staff have been let go due to creative differences with Marvel. The writing team had completed multiple scripts and outlines for the show and were well into a production cycle before Marvel made the call. The show has been put on pause until Marvel can hire another showrunner and have them build their own writing team.
– The Guardian artist Rebecca Hendin has won the British Political Cartoon of the Year Award. Her winning illustration depicted UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a room on fire as he skips out on a press conference. The work, inspired by K.C. Green’s “this is fine” gag strip, was published in September after Johnson failed to appear with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg.
– Finally, it has been announced that the upcoming Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene, will be crossing over with the main show before it airs. The crossover episode airs on February 5th on The CW and will follow Veronica as she heads to New York for a college interview, where she will meet with her old friend, Katy Keene. The spinoff series’ premiere, which takes place five years ahead of Riverdale, will air the next day on February 6th.
