This may be a little late but here it is all the same! ECC couldn’t even keep me from getting this done! So everyone are you ready for another inconsequential Burpee’s Got You Covered?! Fuck yeah?! Alright than click the jump and let’s get this show on the road!

6. The Mystic Hands of Dr. Strange
By Lucio Parrillo

While I didn’t pick this issue up and there is also nothing truly amazing about the cover I am a fan of Dr. Strange and I really enjoy his portrayal here. It’s a great Dr. Strange but there is really nothing too amazingly dynamic.

5. DMZ #51

By JP Leon

Very simple cover but very well done. It reminds me of the way Heroes’ episodes would begin and give the title. It’s a great way to add the title of the arc on the front of the cover in a very non-generic way.

4. Cyber Force/Hunter-Killer #5

By Kenneth Rocafort

I love Rocafort’s stuff. I think he has one of the more unique looks out there. It’s not quite a J.H. Williams III look but it is all the same an amazing style. It’s one that never gets old at least in my opinion. I especially love his ability to draw technology, which is something I, thing think this cover spotlights really well. As a diehard X-Men fan I must admit I probably would do the crème in the pants if he were to test his skills doing some Sentinels. I know I really loved his Mojo that graced the covers of Marvel’s anthology series ….so seeing some Sentinels would be mucho excellento!

3. Wolverine: Mr. X (One-Shot)

By Brandon Petersen

I have to admit I have not been a fan of a lot of Petersen’s stuff lately. I do really enjoy this cover. I love the way they put the title of the issue down the middle of the two characters’ profiles. It’s another excellent use of cover space in a non generic way. I also love how visceral the two characters look here. It’s a great way to sell an issue where two characters who hate each other face off. You get the point instantly that there is some bad blood and some business is about to go down.

2. S.W.O.R.D. #5

By Michael Del Mundo

This title has had some really crazy busy covers that just work so well. Unfortunately the interior just never matched the exteriors excellence in my opinion. I know this is a statement of heresy on this website but for me that is the downright truth. Del Mundo is a very talented artist and I hope Marvel is smart enough to keep him around because he could be a real breakout cover artist/salesman for some of their titles. If you paired him with a book that matched the quality of his covers I would be a loyal fan.

1. Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Unleashed #1
By Roger Langridge

God damn cute covers piss me off. I just want o point that out. The cutesy comics are just a buzz kill for me. Well…except for Tiny Titans, which is awesome. So to add this cover to my list at first was something I was not willing to do. After a bit though I couldn’t stop thinking about it. For that reason alone it had to be on the list. If a cover can stick with you it is a great cover. Yes, I just said this was a great cover and the manly man inside me is shaking his head but the truth is the truth fanpeeps.
