This week was an awesome week for covers. I genuinely had a hard time narrowing my list down to the choices you are now presented with. Great covers from a variety of artists, titles and companies. When it was all said and done though this became a Marvel dominated week with on exception. Not only was it Marvel dominated but a single title actually hits the list twice this week because it’s variant was so badass I had to include it too. So what made the list? Juggernaut looks just pissed and devastated. I love the way Weeks drew the helmet all torn up. It really looks like torn metal. The way it is warped and everything is truly well done. I feel like Juggernaut should have some text under his face that says, “Hang in there!”.
Adi Granov is such a badass mother shut your mouth! This guy’s style was made for comic covers. I only wish he did more interiors for one of the big two. I would love to see him running amuck in one of the X-Titles or even an Avengers book. A talent like this should be on an A-List book with an A-List writer.
This was just straight up a beautifully subdued cover. It’s not flashy and big action but instead rather the opposite which is highly appealing. It is a gorgeous cover and it brings the softer side of Wolvie to the cover in a way that shows the heart of the beast. I absolutely love this cover.
This cover was the background of my computer for about a month and a half. Anytime I can look at something that long it must be a sign that I enjoy it. I love seeing Finch’s rendition of so many of the characters I grew up with and love all gracing the same cover. To top it off it has Hope on the bottom at the center of it all just as she should be. Considering what’s happening in this book.
So that is the list this week. Very dominated by Marvel and more specifically X-Titles. On the topic of dominating Adi Granov added yet another notch on his belt as he pulls away from the other artists on the list. You can see that list below and I’ll see you all next week.
