Burpee’s Got You Covered!

I’m back from my vacation in Hawaii and just in time as tsunami warnings hit the islands. Last week David stepped in and gave us a taste of his own unique taste of covers and upped the cuteness factor here at Burpee’s Got You Covered by about 2000% with choices such as Tiny Titans. Well I’m back and so is my tastes in covers. So of course that means we’ve got some great superhero shots and a few oddball choices thrown in there too. So what do we have on the list this week? Check it out after the jump….

5. The Marvels Project #6 Variant
By Steve McNiven

McNiven is a beast when it comes to drawing Cap. He does such an amazing job of including all the scales on Cap’s armor. It just looks phenomenal. The orange background does a great job of really making Cap pop of the page too. Cool cover if only because Cap looks awesome.

4. Spider-Man: The Clone Saga #6
By Chris Cross

It’s funny I may just be out of it but I can’t remember the last time I saw something by Chris Cross. I love the cover and the amount of detail put into it. This is a great action scene between two Spider-Mans who are going all out. One complaint I have though is what is up with the dude with a face full of web? What the hell did he do to either of these guys? Now he’s going to suffocate. To think people give Hulk crap for collateral damage.

3. Iron Man: I Am Iron Man! #2
By Adi Granov

Adi is back on the list! His Iron Man is money. Plain and simple. The battle damage Iron Man we’re given here looks so cool your eyeballs are getting frostbite just looking at it.

2. Secret Warriors #13 (Deadpool Variant)
By Jim Cheung

I am one of those people that is tired of this sudden Deadpool explosion at Marvel. It was good to see the character get a little more exposure but it has gotten out of hand. Having said that this cover is hilarious and I rather enjoy it. I chuckle at least a little every time I see it. Then I die inside for promoting it, which only perpetuates the Deadpool thing. Ah, to be a living breathing fanman….

1.Muppet King Arthur #2
By David Petersen

Gonzo hugging a chicken in medieval garb. I want to say more but I feel that first sentence says it all. Goodnight!

There you have it. Adi Granov makes the list as usual but the top cover this week involves a new title and a new artist. Believe it not David and I will be meeting Mr. Petersen this week and doing an interview with him. Having said that his placing number one had nothing to do with this. It was just a really awesome cover. So I’ll see you next week for more fun and suprises!
