Burpee is off in Hawaii, living the life of Mai Tai’s, beaches, and bikinis, while I’m stuck up here in Alaska. Thankfully I get to take Burpee’s Got You Covered this week, so ha! Who wins now Burpee?! Okay…he still does, but whatever.

Click after the jump to find out what happens when I pick the covers.

6. Tiny Titans # 25 (Cover by Art Baltazar)

Why it is Awesome: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” said Leonardo Da Vinci. Well in that case this cover is one of the most sophisticated in history, as it’s adorable, continuity involving, and fun all in the same setting. Sure, it’s not revolutionary in its art, but it’s well crafted for what it is and it definitely sells the book.

5. The Incredibles # 5 (Cover by Marcio Takara)

Why it is Awesome: This cover successfully sends up one of the most famous covers of all time (come on now, you have to recognize Amazing Spider-Man #50 when you see it, right?), and does well. While it may reverse both images, it’s still a pretty clever job by the creators and a heck of a job of getting the longer tenured comic readers a reason to pick it up. While it may be a juvenile read, it’s still something that packs a punch visually off the comic stands.

4. Joe the Barbarian # 2 (Cover by Sean Murphy)

Why it is Awesome: Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap. Sean Murphy is killing it. While this cover may not show all of that, it still shows the glory of Joe and Jack the Rat’s first team up. But seriously, Murphy’s rendition of the rain pouring upon our heroic duo is preposterously gorgeous, settling the details in the darkest of blacks while rendering all the rest in a most triumphant hue of fantastic. Solid work as per usual by the burgeoning superstar Murphy.

3. Black Widow: Deadly Origin # 4 (Cover by Adi Granov)

Why it is Awesome: Adi Granov makes pictures that do not even look real.

That is a fact.

At the same time, his Black Widow covers have been so sexy it’s impossible to ignore their greatness. While their is a bit of a porcelain quality to his imagery, a too human for human bit, this cover is sumptuous and alluring in all the right ways. While Granov is a bit of a one tricky pony, holy crap, what a trick it is.

2. Blackest Night: The Flash # 3 (Cover by Scott Kolins)

Why it is Awesome: While Scott Kolins isn’t one of my favorite artists, he has a gift that should come naturally to everyone who takes the mantle as a a Flash artist: kinetic feel. His illustrations almost always have a dense, kinetic feel to the page, rendering The Flash and all those on it with a real sense of power and speed. This cover that deeply relates to Blackest Night is a wonder in itself, with Kolins sharing perfectly the speed that is pouring past Barry Allen in the image above. Wonderful work.

1. Daredevil # 505 (Cover by Paolo Rivera)

Why it is Awesome: I have a deep love for Japanese imagery. Demonstrations of the beauty Hokusai produced outside of The Great Waves of Kanagawa are revealed upon my walls, and every a greater appreciation of these images are taken on by yours truly. I suppose it should be no different when Marvel produces a heavily Japanese influenced cover for their Daredevil title (wait ’til next issue!) as Murdock himself travels through Japan.

Topical, stylish, and perfectly fitting, this title had the best cover of anything I saw from the very beginning.
