John Arcudi may be leaving “B.P.R.D.” soon but that doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere. With artist Toni Fejzula, he will launch “Dead Inside,” a new miniseries at Dark Horse.

It is no secret that we here at Multiversity have a lot of love for the work Arcudi has done in the Mignolaverse. Announced by CBR, “Dead Inside” is a crime drama centering on Linda Caruso, a member of the Jail Crimes Investigation Unit charged with investigating a murder deep inside the prison system. With this murder, Caruso will have to look at a very specific group of possible suspects and because of this “she discovers uncomfortable truths about her friends, her job, and herself.”

Dark Horse describes the series as something fans of Orange Is The New Black, Making a Murderer and American Crime Story will enjoy. Toni Fejzula, who Arcudi has worked with before on “Lobster Johnson,” will do the interior art and Dave Johnson will create the covers. Fejzula also illustrated the miniseries “Veil,” written by Greg Rucka, for Dark Horse in 2014.

I’m excited to see Arcudi do something like this and as far as I’m concerned there will never be enough good crime dramas. They let us see into the different sides of the human psyche in a way that no other genre really allows. “Dead Inside” #1 is out on December 21st.
