Red 5 Comics have announced “The Dark Age,” a new comic written by Knightfall co-creator Don Handfield, with art by Leo Rodriguez and colorist Dijjo Limawill. Issue #1 will launch in July, but fans who can’t wait will be able to get a preview of the comic during this year’s Free Comic Book Day on May 4. It was also announced that “The Dark Age” will be adapted for TV by Mudbound producers Christopher Lemote and Tim Zajaros of Armory Films. This will be the first in a slate of comic book titles launched under the collaboration between Armory and Handfield’s production company, Motor Television. Handfield will pen the series, with additional writers to be announced.

Titan Comics announced it’s bringing back a Christmas classic with a new edition of “Santa: My Life & Times” by comic book artist Bill Sienkiewicz and writer Jared Green. The book was originally published in 1998 and is written as an autobiography of Kris Kringle. The new edition will release in September.

– In other casting news, Sonoya Mizuno (Crazy Rich Asians) has been cast as the title character in Mouse Guard, 20th Century Fox’s film adaptation of the Eisner-winning comic book series by David Petersen. She joins Andy Serkis, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Idris Elba.

Series creators David F. Walker, Sanford Greene, and Chuck Brown will executive produce.

– Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released the full voice cast and first image for its newest original movie, Batman: Hush, an adaptation of the 2002-2003 story of the same name by Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair. The voice cast most notably includes Jason O’Mara reprising the role of Batman, who he has played since Justice League: War and Son of Batman.

– Finally, Freeform is breaking into animation with two new series including Woman World, based on Aminder Dhaliwal’s graphic novel of the same name. The pilot, executive produced by Felicia Day and written by Dhaliwal, answers the question, “What would our world look like if men became extinct?”
