Now for the rest of the news:

– AfterShock Comics announced two deals for TV adaptations of their comics. Universal Television has begun development on an adaptation of “The Lost City Explorers,” Zack Kaplan and Alvaro Sarraseca’s recently launched series about teen explorers finding a tunnel from New York that takes them to Atlantis. – For reasons that fans are left to speculate on, Legends of Tomorrow will not be a part of the Arrowverse crossover that will introduce Batwoman. EW reported that the crossover will include Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl but the team show won’t be a part, joining Black Lightning, which has yet to be brought into the overall collective DC TV continuity. And in other CW DC news, Sam Witwer (Smallville, Being Human) has has joined the cast of Supergirl season 4 as an extremist take on the anti-hero Agent Liberty.

– In an interview with The New York Times, Simpsons creator Matt Groening was asked about the ongoing debate over the character Apu. Though hurt by the fact that people are offended by the stereotypical nature of the character, he says the debate has become tainted over time, adding that the issue was dealt with in the show a couple of years ago.

– Skydance Interactive, the creators of Archangel: Hellfire, announced their new game experience The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners at SDCC. This survival horror game set in the flooded districts of New Orleans heralds the first official VR game set in Robert Kirkman’s popular post-apocalyptic world.

– Netflix’s production of IDW’s “V-Wars” added Laura Vandervoort from Supergirl, Kyle Breitkopf from The Whispers, and Kimberly-Sue Murray from Crimson Peak, to the show’s growing cast this morning. This adaptation of the 2012 short story collection tells the story of the progressive spread of vampirism in the modern-day.

– Emmy, Golden Globe and Independent Spirit Award nominee Amber Tamblyn joined the cast of the upcoming adaptation of “Y: The Last Man.” Tamblyn is slated to play Mariette Callows, daughter of the President of the United States, a woman groomed to follow in the conservative footsteps of her father.

– Author and singer/songwriter Amy S. Foster has signed on to write the first long form Red Sonja novel in a long time. Foster says she wants to honor Robert E. Howard, Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith’s formative takes on the character, as she explores her early adventures. “And also,” she added, “because string bikinis were off the table.”

– In celebration of the 15th anniversary of “Scott Pilgrim,” Bryan Lee O’Malley and Oni Press are planning a three volume color re-release of the series, as well as a slip-casted boxed version. Each of the oversized books will retail for $29.99, the boxed version at $89.99, and all are available on April 10, 2019.

– Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight is getting a 10th Anniversary IMAX re-release. The movie that included scenes shot on IMAX cameras will be in select theaters for one week starting August 24th.
