In case you missed it, Marvel announced a few new series, including Kelly Thompson and Chris Bachalo’s “Deadpool,” Valiant revealed a new “Rai” series from Dan Abnett and Juan José Ryp, and Vault Comics expanded their Nightfall horror imprint with “Black Stars Above.”

– Newsarama has a full rundown on the Day of Dredd, a September 7 celebration of all things Judge Dredd that will include signings at a number of UK and US comic shops, as well as the release of “Judge Dredd: The Small House.”
– CBR shared the news that Mike Baron and Steve Rude’s “Nexus” is getting the re-release treatment from Dark Horse, with two versions of a 184-page collected edition on the way early next year. The regular edition will retail for $19.99, while the Artist’s Edition will retail for $99.99.
– The Bookseller reports that Little, Bown will publish a memoir and collection of work from cartoonist and illustrator Gerald Scarfe, and that Scottish publisher BHP Comics has signed with Curtis Brown for representation in the film and TV industry.
– Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment signed a first look deal with Audible, to produce audio content based on Skybound’s properties. Newsarama has more details on the agreement, which will doubtlessly lead to a “The Walking Dead” audio story at some point.
– As part of an article detailing Disney’s unhappiness with 20th Century Fox’s first-quarter performance, Variety revealed that the live action adaptation of BOOM! Studios’ “Lumberjanes” has been cancelled (along with a number of other productions).
