– Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’s “Saga” is going on hiatus for at least the next year and possibly longer, according to an essay at the back of this week’s issue 54. “Fiona and I feel a responsibility to keep making the very best comic we can, and we both agreed that the only way to eventually finish the epic saga we set out to tell was with this one significant … let’s call it … Intermission!” said Vaughan. Newsarama confirmed the news.

– Nick Drnaso’s “Sabrina” became the first graphic novel to land on The Guardian‘s longlist for the Man Booker prize. “We all read it and were blown away by it,” said Man Booker judge and bestselling crime novelist Val McDermid, in the Guardian post announcing the list of nominees. “The graphic novel has increasingly become front and centre in terms of storytelling, [and] we felt “[Sabrina]” does just what good fiction should do.” We reviewed “Sabrina” earlier this year.

– After some conjecture earlier in the day, writer Kelly Sue DeConnick stated that her “Aquaman” run (which we told you about about during SDCC) is planned to start with issue 43.

– Artist Greg Capullo confirmed that his and Scott Snyder’s DC Black Label title, “Batman: Last Knight on Earth,” will run as a three-issue, double-sized limited series, in a series of tweets profiled by Newsarama.

Entertainment Weekly has the first details on the Shazam! movie’s version of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Billy Batson’s archnemesis. In case you missed it, you can catch a glimpse of Sivana in last week’s Shazam! trailer.

– Jason Aaron and Ron Garney’s “Men of Wrath” is receiving a new hardcover collection from Image Comics, reports Newsarama. “Men of Wrath” was originally published under Marvel’s now-defunct Icon imprint, which housed creator-owned titles from the publisher’s “exclusive” creators.

– The Beat shared an interview with Jon Pacquette, the lead writer of Playstation and Insominiac’s September-releasing Spider-Man game. For details on the game’s SDCC reveals, and how many DLCs are currently planned, head over to The Beat.

– Emma Thompson is set to return as Men in Black‘s Agent O, joining stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Sony’s reboot of the franchise. For more, including a list of other actors confirmed for the film, click over to The Hollywood Reporter.

– And finally, the upcoming volumes of “Iceman” and “The Unstoppable Wasp” have been confirmed as five issue miniseries, rather than ongoing series, over at Newsarama.
