In case you missed it, a new “StarCraft” comic was announced by Dark Horse, Image Comics announced a new OGN called “Little Girls”, Michel Fiffe is launching a new G.I. Joe series and comiXology announced the prequel series, “Promethee 13:13.”

2000 AD have announced Mark Montague is the winner of their inaugural Art Stars competition. The newcomer’s winning pin-up of Judge Dredd depicts him in the clutches of Brother Morgar and the Brotherhood of Darkness, as seen in the classic 1978 storyline ‘The Cursed Earth.’ “Both the execution (pun intended) and style impressed 2000 AD’s editor, Matt Smith, and now Mark’s work will be seen by the readers of the legendary weekly comic.”

– Playwright and artist Cynthia von Buhler has adapted her Titan Comics series, “Minky Woodcock: The Girl Who Handcuffed Houdini,” into a play opening today at Theater 80 in New York City. It will run until November 10. It was also announced at The Hollywood Reporter that von Buhler will return with another miniseries in 2019, titled “Minky Woodcock: They Die Fast on Broadway,” which will see Minky investigate the death of real-life starlet Olive Thomas.

– BOOM! Studios announced “Waves,” the debut graphic novel of author Ingrid Chabbert (The Day I Became a Bird), illustrated by Carole Maurel (“Luisa: Now and Then”). The book will “explore the difficulties and heartbreak a young couple faces when they try to have a child.” It will be released in hardback on February 27, 2019.

– In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew Lincoln has described plans for him to return to The Walking Dead later on this season. Despite his final scenes as Rick Grimes not even airing yet, Lincoln said he “can’t bear” to be far away from the show because of his investment “in the show and the continuation of the story.” As to which episode Lincoln would be directing, it remains unclear at this point.

– To mark the 40th anniversary of Superman: The Movie, the film will be re-released on 4K Ultra-HD Blu-Ray with Dolby Vision HDR visual mastering and Dolby Atmos audio quality. It will be released as a combo pack including the 4K Ultra-HD Blu-Ray disc as well as a normal Blu-Ray disc version, with special features such as commentary by Pierre Spengler and Ilya Salkind, the 1978 TV Special The Making of Superman: The Movie and more being included in the package. The combo pack, as well as a digital version, will be released on November 6.

– Finally, artist Jamie McKelvie has unveiled his latest poster for Scottish synthpop group CHVRCHES, who are currently touring with their third album Love is Dead. Be sure to check out our gallery of his previous CHVRCHES artwork here.
