“Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2019”

By | May 2, 2019 | Reviews

Paramount has given us a gift in the form of a Sonic the Hedgehog trailer that is so awful, the only way to cleanse ourselves of it is to read something that doesn’t have Sonic’s horrifying human teeth. Let’s see if IDW can not make the same mistakes as Paramount.

Finally! A comic book that answers one of the hard pressing questions: “what would happen if heroes and sidekicks have sex?” Well, maybe is not a hard pressing question, but sure as hell is an interesting theme to explore, and Nick Marino, Daniel Arruda Massa and Rosie Knight are the ones who dared to take […]

The Webcomics Weekly #33: Dead House III: More Zombies (4/30/19 Edition)

By | Apr 30, 2019 | Reviews

In my continued quest to keep fictional 2019 futures alive in our titles, I have discovered that there are more than two House of the Dead games. I am shocked and horrified at this revelation. So, despite the promise of zombies in the title, the only spooky things are the usual haunts, Lost Nightmares, and Strange Tales. But, joining our intrepid continuations are the returning "Cosmoknights" and "Dungeons and Doggos" and a look at our first Patreon centered comics by Lucy Knisley.

“Marvel Comics Presents” #4

By | Apr 26, 2019 | Reviews

As a kid, whenever I got money in my pocket, I immediately blew it all on comic books. I didn’t have a local comic book shop though. The closest thing was the 7-Eleven where they sold Marvel Select ‘double-sized flip magazines’. Basically, Marvel would package two issues in one. For example, on one side you […]

“Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” #1

By | Apr 26, 2019 | Reviews

There is a type of Star Wars story many people purport to hate. It’s the kind that feels the need to explain every little detail from the beloved films. Why did R5-D4 have a bad motivator? Why did Admiral Motti not believe in the Force? Did Poe Dameron get a good deal on his iconic […]

“Jughead: The Hunger vs Vampironica” #1

By | Apr 26, 2019 | Reviews

The “Archie” comics have had some very strange spinoffs, everywhere from Archie being hunted down by the Predator to teaming up with the Punisher. I’m not even joking. So when one spinoff has Veronica becoming a vampire, and another has Jughead becoming a werewolf, of course those spinoffs would have to cross-over. So without further […]

“The Flash” #69 concludes the arc focused on the classic rogue Trickster and, by doing so, relies on a familiar trope of the speedster’s comic of having a rogue on the spotlight. For most of it, it succeeds, despite certain flaws around character choices. Written by Joshua Williamson Illustrated by Scott Kolins Colored by Luis […]
